Bangladesh plans to convert diesel irrigation pumps into solar irrigation pumps

On March 11th, Bangladesh's Financial Express reported that Dr. Taufik, the energy advisor to Prime Minister Bangladesh, instructed the power sector to develop a plan to replace diesel irrigation pumps nationwide with solar pumps. Hamid, Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh Electric Power, also stated that joint efforts should be made to promote solar irrigation pumps, which not only reduce carbon emissions but also save a lot of foreign exchange.
