Uzbekistan will strengthen quality inspection of imported photovoltaic panels

On January 11th, Uzbekistan's spot website reported that on that day, the Ukrainian cabinet passed a decree on promoting the development of renewable energy and related regulatory measures, which stipulated a 120 day interest free and deferred customs tax treatment for imported equipment and materials related to the utilization of renewable energy. The interest free and deferred payment period for importers with no negative violation records in the past three years was extended to 6 months; At the same time, we will further strengthen the quality control of relevant imported equipment. Starting from March 1st, the import of photovoltaic panels without quality grades specified will be prohibited, and relevant departments will be required to establish laboratories to evaluate whether imported renewable energy equipment meets technical regulatory requirements. Importers will need to submit certification applications to the Ukrainian Science Testing and Quality Control Standards Center through the "single window" customs system.
