The function of residual current circuit breaker

2024-03-11

What is a residual current circuit breaker

A residual current circuit breaker is actually a protective device that acts as a switch in a circuit when the leakage current exceeds the rated value. The leakage circuit breakers on the market can be divided into two types of products based on their functions: voltage and current. Among them, current leakage circuit breakers can be further divided into electromagnetic and electronic categories. The biggest function of leakage circuit breakers is to prevent excessive current from causing leakage problems and reduce the occurrence of safety hazards.

Voltage leakage circuit breakers are often used in low voltage networks where transformers are not grounded. When the user is electrocuted, the neutral wire in the circuit will generate high voltage current to the ground, causing the leakage circuit breaker to operate and causing the circuit switch to trip. Current leakage circuit breakers are commonly used in low-voltage power systems where transformers are grounded. When the user is electrocuted, the internal induction system detects leakage, allowing the leakage circuit breaker to operate and causing power interruption.

The function of residual current circuit breaker

In order to safely and effectively solve the leakage problem, we can solve it by using leakage circuit breakers.

The so-called "home electrical" generally refers to the comprehensive layout and management of strong and weak electrical equipment in the home, including circuit breakers, switches, sockets, and sockets with a voltage of 220V, as well as weak electrical management of sound signals, such as weak electrical boxes. These four product series constitute the power supply guarantee for the entire home electrical system. A circuit breaker is one of the components in home electrical systems, which can provide protection for various electrical circuits in the home. The circuit breaker series products mainly have four major functions: short circuit protection, overload protection, leakage protection, and lightning protection. The leakage protection function can solve the safety problems caused by leakage and effectively protect household safety.

Selection and purchase of residual current circuit breakers

1. Due to the serious consequences and significant harm of direct electric shock, it is recommended to choose products with good flexibility when selecting residual current circuit breakers. This type of residual current circuit breaker should be installed on the circuit loop, preferably with a current of 30mA. The working time should be maintained at 0.1s. It is commonly used in many residential spaces, and it is recommended to install it on the main meter position at the entrance.

2. If there is an indirect electric shock problem in different places, the damage to the human body is different, so it is necessary to choose the corresponding residual current circuit breaker product according to the actual situation of the place. For places where leakage problems are more likely to occur, sensitive products should be selected. Compared to dry spaces, damp spaces are more prone to electric shock problems. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a leakage circuit breaker with a current of 15-30mA and a working time of within 0.1s.

3. If it is an electrical product used in water, for the leakage protector, a current value between 6-10mA should be selected, and the working time should be within US. In addition, personnel using it should stand on metal appliances. Once the current exceeds 24V, a leakage circuit breaker with a current below 15mA and a holding time within US should be selected.
